Golf Tournaments and Events

Minnesota Mulligans for Mental Health organizes golf tournaments to support our charitable mission. Information regarding tournament dates, locations, fees, sponsorship opportunities, prizes, contests, and event schedules is subject to change without notice. While we strive to provide accurate and current information, we reserve the right to modify, postpone, relocate, or cancel any event due to weather, golf course conditions, public safety concerns, insufficient registration, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Participation in our events is voluntary. Participants assume responsibility for their own health, safety, and personal property while attending any Organization-sponsored event.

Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner toward fellow golfers, volunteers, sponsors, golf course staff, and members of the public. The Organization reserves the right to remove any participant whose conduct is unsafe, disruptive, unlawful, or inconsistent with our mission and values. Registration fees may not be refunded in such circumstances.

Tournament Rules

Each golf tournament may have additional rules governing play, contests, scoring, pace of play, eligibility for prizes, raffles, silent auctions, and other event activities. By registering for an event, participants agree to comply with all published tournament rules and with the policies of the host golf facility.

Assumption of Risk

Golf and outdoor recreational activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to being struck by golf balls or clubs, slips and falls, uneven terrain, weather conditions, wildlife, and golf cart operation.

By participating in any Organization-sponsored event, participants voluntarily assume these risks and agree to participate at their own discretion.

Photography and Media Release

Unless a participant notifies the Organization in writing before an event, Minnesota Mulligans for Mental Health may photograph or record participants during tournaments and related activities.

Participants grant the Organization permission to use photographs, video, audio recordings, and likenesses for charitable, educational, promotional, fundraising, and historical purposes in print, social media, websites, newsletters, and other communications without additional compensation.

Individuals wishing to opt out of photography or media use should notify event staff upon arrival.

When you register for one of our golf tournaments or fundraising events, we may collect information such as:

  • Player names
  • Team information
  • Handicap (if applicable)
  • Contact information
  • Emergency contact information
  • Sponsorship selections
  • Meal preferences or dietary restrictions
  • Payment information
  • Waiver acknowledgments

We use this information solely for administering the event, communicating with participants, recognizing sponsors, issuing receipts, and improving future events.

Event Photography

Photographs and video captured during Organization events may be used to highlight our mission, recognize sponsors, celebrate participants, and promote future fundraising activities. Individuals who wish not to appear in published materials should notify Organization staff before or during the event.

Donation Policy

Minnesota Mulligans for Mental Health appreciates every contribution that supports our mission.

Tax Deductibility

Minnesota Mulligans for Mental Health is recognized as a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Donations are generally tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donors should consult their tax advisor regarding their individual circumstances.

Tournament Registration Fees

Registration fees for golf tournaments help support the charitable mission of Minnesota Mulligans for Mental Health. Depending on the event, a portion of the registration fee may represent the fair market value of benefits received, such as golf, meals, gifts, or merchandise. Only the amount exceeding the fair market value of those benefits may be tax deductible as allowed by law.

The Organization will provide participants with a receipt identifying any deductible charitable contribution when required.

Sponsorships

Corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities may include promotional recognition, signage, advertising, event participation, or other benefits. The tax deductibility of sponsorship payments may vary depending on the value of benefits received. Sponsors should consult their tax advisor regarding their individual circumstances.

Event Cancellation and Refunds

Unless otherwise stated for a specific event:

  • Registration fees are generally non-refundable after registration closes.
  • If a participant is unable to attend, registration may be transferred to another participant with advance approval from the Organization.
  • If the Organization cancels an event, registrants may be offered a refund, credit toward a future event, or the opportunity to convert their registration fee into a charitable donation, where permitted by law.

Weather-related decisions will be made in consultation with the host golf facility. Delays, shortened play, or modifications to tournament format due to weather do not automatically entitle participants to a refund.

Raffles, Auctions, and Games

Certain tournaments may include raffles, silent auctions, contests, games of skill, or other fundraising activities. Participation is subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as any event-specific rules. Prize availability may be subject to change, and winners may be required to complete documentation before receiving certain prizes.

Sponsorship Recognition

Unless a sponsor requests anonymity, Minnesota Mulligans for Mental Health may acknowledge sponsors on its website, social media platforms, printed materials, event signage, and annual reports as recognition for their generous support of the Organization's mission.

Donation Receipts

An acknowledgment or receipt will be provided for donations as required by applicable law and IRS regulations.

Payment Processing

Online donations may be processed through secure third-party payment processors. Payment information is transmitted directly to the processor and is not stored on our website unless specifically stated.

Recurring Donations

If you enroll in recurring giving, your payment method will be charged according to the schedule you authorize until you cancel.

You may cancel recurring donations at any time by contacting us.

Refund Policy

We make every effort to honor donor intent.

If you believe a donation was made in error or if you need assistance regarding a contribution, please contact us promptly. Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Restricted Gifts

When practical and consistent with our mission, donations designated for a specific purpose will be used as requested.

If a designated project is completed, becomes impractical, or cannot be carried out, the Organization reserves the right to apply the donation to the closest related charitable purpose consistent with donor intent.
